Czech Para Hockey Representation At Ostrava’s Peak

Between intense training on ice and in the gym, the Czech para hockey representation also set out to the Bolt Tower in Dolní Vítkovice. The players and the realization team visited the national cultural monument in Ostrava. Thanks to the fact that the climb to the Bolt Tower is wheelchair accessible, all players could enjoy the unique view of Ostrava and the Beskydy Mountains.

“We are really very busy with the program, and it is nice, even if in some accelerated form, to go after culture and see a bit ofOstrava,” said Jiří Bříza, the coach of the Czech para hockey team. “The Bolt Tower sits at almost 80 meters on the former blast furnace number 1. We are glad that this monument is open to all and that we could also welcome our para hockey players. The entire area of Dolní Vítkovice is already looking forward to the World Championships. We are ready for visitors who want to diversify the program between playing days. Of course, we will mainly support the Czech team, ”added Jakub Švrček, Director of World of Technology, DOV.

The Czech para hockey team is now also acquainted with the background of the Ostravar Arena, where the Ostrava 2019 World Para Ice Hockey Championships will begin in three weeks. “We’ve been training in Ostrava for three days now and it is important for the players. Every stadium is different. The conditions are different everywhere, but here the organizers do a great job and now I can see that the facilities will be of great quality for all para hockey teams. We are already looking forward to the championships, ”said Jiří Bříza.

Individual national teams will arrive in Ostrava on 24th and 25th of April. The championships program will then start on the first day of the matches as early as nine o’clock in the morning of April 27th, 2019.
