About the Para ice hockey world championships Ostrava 2019

The Para Ice Hockey World Championships will be held in Ostrava for the second time. The city will host the eight best national ice hockey teams of the "A" group, represented by the Czech Republic, Italy, Japan, Canada, Korea, Norway, Sweden and the USA from April 27 to May 4, 2019.

This important international sport event will be supported by the Statutory City of Ostrava and the Moravian-Silesian Region.

Strategy, team, competition

The world’s top 100 Para ice hockey players will show off a thrilling competition for the world championships title. Spectators may look forward to great Para hockey, but they will also witness pushing the human body beyond the limit. In para hockey it is not just about the sporting performance, it is important to build values such as perseverance, determination and the ability to fight hard and unrelentingly against adversity. Therefore, this sport deserves greater public attention and its players deserve recognition and admiration.

The Ostrava 2019 World Para Ice Hockey Championships is happening thanks to the financial support of the Statutory City of Ostrava and the Moravian-Silesian Region.

Live streams from WCH will be broadcasted by Czech Television, which will have its own studio in Ostravar Arena. This is the first time in the history of Para hockey tournaments !!!
