How to get to Ostrava

By airplane

Leoš Janáček International Airport is located approximately 25 km from the center of Ostrava. Currently, the airport provides direct access to London-Stansted airports. Václav Havel International Airport in Prague is the most significant airport in the Czech Republic. From Ostrava it is approximately 400 km away and offers a wide range of connections to the whole world and a number of important interchanges. The airport connection with Ostrava is provided by train connections from Prague Main Station. Connection between the Airport and the Main Station in Prague is provided by Airport Express buses. The Katowice International Airport is approximately 120 km away from Ostrava and offers many direct connections to many places in Europe including some interchanges. By train

Ostrava lies directly on the main railway corridor. Trains provide regular direct connections between national and international connections with many major cities such as Prague, Brno, Vienna, Warsaw. The most important stations in Ostrava are Ostrava – Hlavní nádraží and Ostrava – Svinov, both with a direct connection to the public transport network.

By bus

By car

Ostrava is intersected by the D1 highway connecting Ostrava to other major cities such as Olomouc, Brno, Praha, and which directly connects to the Polish highway network going to Gliwice, Krakow and Wroclaw.

How to get to the arena

City public transport

Ostravar Arena is located in the Vitkovice district and is easily accessible by public transport. Tram lines 2, 3, 7, 11 stop directly at Ostravar Arena at the barrier-free SPORT ARENA stop. Tram lines 12 and 17 stop at the nearby stops Dolní or Tylova on Plzeňská street. These stops are not barrier-free. By car

For arriving by car from the direction of the D1 motorway (Olomouc – Bohumín / PL), Havířov, Frýdek Místek, it is best to use the route along Rudna / Zavodni Street. Main parking areas around Ostravar Areas are accessible from Zavodni Street, GPS coordinates: 49.8044550N, 18.2512036E.

City public transport is part of the integrated transport system ODIS and consists of an extensive network of tram, bus and trolleybus lines. Taxi
