PARAntastic training with the ambassador and the hockey stars

Dominik Hašek, Patrik Eliáš, Ondřej Pavelec and David Výborný. It was under the supervision of these ice hockey stars that the last yet training of the Czech para ice hockey representation was held.

The Czech team is preparing for the upcoming Ostrava 2019 World Para Ice Hockey Championships. The fact that para hockey players had the chance to try a couple of tricks on the ice or have a speed race with the hockey stars was a pleasant diversification of their hard training. “I explained to Dominik Hašek how we actually catch pucks in the goal. Every goalie, of course, has his own style, but in para hockey it is definitely even more specific, “said Michal Vápenka, goalkeeper of the Czech para ice hockey team, who exchanged a few valuable tips with the ambassador of the championships. “The boys are incredibly powerful. I, myself, did not try the sledge but I can see that it is very difficult to keep on those sleighs. Moreover, the speed at which the guys skate is really incredible, “added the former representative goalkeeper Ondřej Pavelec.

Patrik Eliáš, on the other hand, was introduced to para hockey more than 10 years ago during the WCH in Ostrava in 2009. He particularly appreciated the performance progress of the Czech para ice hockey team. “It’s great that the guys can be professionally prepared for the championships. it is already visible from their performance  and I look forward to see the championships in Ostrava, ” Patrik Eliáš adds.

Even actor, Jakub Kohák, did some honest work, skating in the sleigh for one third of the training on the ice.
