The International Paralympic Committee and the local organizing committee are expecting even better duels than the ones that took place during the last Paralympic Games in PyeongChang this March. The match for the gold brought a tremendous duel between the US and Canada back then, the US attained the gold only after the extension.

The chairman of the Organizing Committee Jiří Šindler said: “Once again, after ten years, we will hold a para hockey WCH in Ostrava. The championship was very successful in 2009, and it is a challenge for us. We want to have a top tournament not only for the players but also for the audience. We want to raise awareness in the Czech Republic about para hockey. We have planned both a massive media campaign and an educational campaign. We organize days of handicapped sports in more than 40 schools. This project will be organized in cooperation with two local universities.
